Flat feet (pronation), where excessive collapse of the feet will lead to over rotated leg bones, affects your hip and pelvic positions, thereby leading to a changed curvature of your back, which then causes back pain. Highly arched feet (supination) is when the high contour of your feet gives way to poor shock absorption, which then places added load to your knee and hip joints. This will result in joint pains.

Orthotics help to restore normal function of your feet by properly redistributing the weight bearing areas on your feet. Not only that, but they can also improve the alignment of the bones in your feet and legs.

Because everyone’s feet are different, Dr. Ling will first evaluate your feet before he custom-fit orthotics for you. Heat moldable plastic is used for casting to the exact shape of your foot and arch, and then the orthotics are manufactured at a local special lab.
