In 1998 I suffered a lumbar disc pro-lapse caused by lifting a heavy object. I was seeing a chiropractor regularly in the first few months after the incident. These visits soon became less necessary as my back condition improved further.

Afterwards, I only needed to see a chiropractor sporadically after minor prolapses caused by erratic moves mainly during sports activities.

In late Nov 2005 I started to develop stomach problems. I was seeing a doctor who diagnosed it as common irritable bowel syndrome. The general discomfort I suffered did not subside even after being given medication over a period of a few weeks. My doctor suggested doing an OGD and Colonoscopy. The examination went well and test results were satisfactory. I was told to finish another course of tablets the following week. This helped fight symptoms but never completely stopped their recurrence.

It was another mishap in sports that brought me back to a chiropractor, this time to Dr. Alex Ling. I then started a regular treatment to improve my spinal condition for the long term. After only a few visits, I noticed an improvement in my back, but also, my stomach problems had disappeared. My stomach bloating is now gone and I feel fitter. I have not suffered from irritable bowel syndrome or similar digestive problems since and I now understand the importance of a healthy back as it virtually affect our whole bodily functions.
